Two epitaphs of Khitan Small Script were procured from some collectors by Inner Mongolia University Ethno-national Museum from May to June in 2007. Ms. Sichintana gave three epitaphs of Khitan Large Script generously to the museum at the beginning of this year. And then, the museum also collected one epitaph of Khitan Large Script in April 2008. The museum collected one epitaph of Khitan Small Script this year. It is said that Inner Mongolia University owns nine epitaphs of Khitan Large and Small Scripts which are not yet published openly. The inscriptions on these epitaphs are beautiful and were perfectly kept up which state the life and events of some famous and honored persons in Liao dynasty. About more than 6000 characters are written smoothly and clearly on these epitaphs. These epitaphs are precious materials for research. In this paper, the authors are going to give the first introduction of the above materials and express their own opinion on them. Here also authors discuss Khitan Large Script and Khitan Small Script that had been published up to now.
