TANG, J. (2011). On the terms for “goat” recorded in Khitan and Jurchen scripts. Altai Hakpo 21: 191-203. The Altaic Society of Korea.

For “goat”, there are two forms recorded in Khitan microscript and one in Khitan macroscript, together with some probable derivation in Jurchen recordings. The different Khitan recordings reflect the analogous Turkic etymology and become the Jurchen derivative by means of the nominal derivational suffix -la/e. Furthermore, the comparative study of Khitan macroscript and the earliest Jurchen logogram both for “goat” could indicate their probably graphic etymology.
